F-Secure jumps 700 positions among the most competitive B2B websites in the world
A successful B2B domain migration of four new domains in only two months resulted in significantly increased visibility.
F-Secure is a leading Finnish cybersecurity and privacy company based in Helsinki, with presence in more than one hundred countries worldwide. MWR Infosecurity was acquired by F-Secure in 2018 being the largest acquisition in F-Secure’s history.
Part of F-Secure’s corporate security strategy was the integration of MWR Infosecurity’s websites and f-secure.com. F-Secure turned to s360 Finland for advice on how to best integrate four new domains – countercept.com, mwrinfosecurity.com, labs.mwrinfosecurity.com, and phishd.com – to f-secure.com/business within two months deadline.
s360 provided a 12-step process ensuring domain integration was carried out in a controlled and structured manner, mapping more than 100,000 backlinks into a new information architecture on the site, carrying out technical analysis & implementation with consistent testing along the way. As a result of the new domain integration for B2B, the whole f-secure.com-domain increased 700 places in the most competitive websites in the world to position 3,750.
s360 understood our challenge immediately and they were able to react fast. We created common view how to deliver domain integration process and we defined clear responsibilities. The project was carried out successfully and I was pleased with the s360 expertise
Juha Lanteri, Senior Digital Manager - F-Secure
F-Secure had an overall idea of what they needed to accomplish in integrating the new domains. It was essential to make sure that https://www.f-secure.com/en/business-domain visibility would stay the same or even improve with the domain integration project.
s360 had experience from hundreds of domain integrations for large sites and shared a recommended process covering twelve different steps from technical specs to implementation and redirect tests. Because the site migration needed to be completed within two months, s360 recommended prioritizing only the migration of most valuable pages from four different domains. Pages were valued by relevance, backlink strength, keyword coverage, and ease of migration.
Further simplification of the process came from the way of working: F-Secure and s360 set target goals and checked process every week for an eight-week sprint. Lastly, s360 provided fully managed resources on the day of migration to ensure that the indexing & crawling of new pages were a success.
